Finally, finally, finally - Some FOs!!!

First, the purse I gave in a Yankee gift swap in the neighborhood:

I winged the pattern with Knit Picks' WOTA and some SWTC sparkly stuff.

And the inside:

My first Ball Band Dishcloth:

And finally, my first pair of socks!!!
I started the first week of August and finished last weekend. Not the quick project I had envisioned, but soooo fun and rewarding in the end!
Pattern: Universal Sock Pattern
Yarn: Aussie Merino Sock Yarn

Whew! I have neglected this blog....

I suppose that's because I haven't had a FO to post in a looooong time, unless I count the collar I made for my son's Webkin chihuahua! However, I am about to begin the heel flap for the second sock in my first pair of socks ever. How appropriate for Socktober! I am very excited. I've really enjoyed sock knitting. I only hope my next projects go a bit faster.

My Little Yarn Thief!

Meet Jock. Jock is a cairn terrier that DH brought home for me on Valentine's Day. He's been a good little puppy, but definitely has his moments...like this one. Lately, he's been finding my yarn, typically my bowl of project leftovers, but once or twice a started swatch. I assume he plays with the ball of yarn until he's good and tangled and then comes to find me to unwind him. He finally caught me in a good enough mood that I grabbed the camera and took some pictures before the unwinding began. Of course, I've spent the last two days, rewinding yarn balls! Hmmm, perhaps he's asking me to knit him a sweater in time for winter???

Finishing? What's that???

So, I knit this purse last summer, straps and all. I purchased the fabric to line it and it has sat unused and unfinished ever since. Now, someone in the Coffeeshop is wondering if Cascade and Lamb's Pride will felt together, so I am compelled to air my unfinished laundry to help a fellow knitty. Here, you will find they've felted together rather nicely. The blue is Lamb's Pride worsted and the white is Cascade 220 carried in with the blue for the speckly effect. Perhaps this will inspire me to finish in time for a new Fall bag!

FOs: SPDY

Two Scarves, Same Pattern, Different Yarn. I like this pattern. Simple, fast, mindless knitting. The yarn on the left is Araucania Nature Patagonia Cotton. On the right, is Paton's Rumor.
